Map of bike lanes in Dnipro: creation (updated)

If you want to build your route around the city of Dnipro on a bicycle, taking into account bike paths, the first thing that comes to mind is to google “map of bike lanes dnipro”. Unfortunately, the search will not give you the desired result: either there are no bike paths in the Dnipro, or such a map simply does not exist. Let’s check what is happening with bicycle paths in Dnipro in 2020.

According to a legend, the first bike path appeared in Dnipro in 2019 on Kurchatova Street, although in the comments to the post it is noted that bike paths were created earlier on other streets, such as Robocha Street. But for some reason, journalists only considered this one.

Large and not very cities with a large number of cyclists usually have maps of bike paths, for example Lviv or Vinnytsia. Will it be possible to compile an up-to-date interactive map of Dnipro cycle paths for a visual idea of the city’s suitability for commuting and for use in the construction of routes for residents and guests of the city?

Compiled list of streets where bike lanes may be located using info from various sources: Google, social networks, officials, the following list was obtained (thanks for the help to Tetiana Ziletska):

  1. str. Kurchatova
  2. str. Naberezhna Peremohy
  3. Baikalska Street (left bank)
  4. on Tsentralny (Novy) Bridge
  5. Robocha Street
  6. Myru Avenue
  7. Street KARLA MARKSA

I cycled to all the streets from the list and took photos of the bike paths, then created a map using Google My Maps service in July 2020 (see updates).

All lanes are grouped by type:

  • blue – bike paths;
  • purple – shared pedestrian and bike paths.

Map is interactive:

  • when you click on the line, you can see photos of the bike path;
  • you can zoom in/out;
  • if you’re using Google Maps mobile app, when you activate “full screen” mode of the map, it “pulls up” as a layer in Google Maps.

Good luck to everyone planning your routes!
