Cycling Dnipropetrovsk - Stari Kodaky

The KAVA club organizes bike rides in Dnipropetrovsk for everyone, weekly. On Sunday, July 17, the destination was a quarry in the village of Stari Kodaky. Thanks to this ride, I saw the Dnipropetrovsk airport for the first time, as well as the quarry itself, and also practiced taking photos from a bicycle on the move.

I’m at the start, the cat looks surprised at the deflated rear tire.

I stop by Denis’s place, pump up the tires, and we set off.

Group of cyclists started from the railway station, and we reached the Substation and are waiting for them to arrive.

We are waiting

We waited for about half an hour, during which time many cyclists passed the Zaporizhzhia highway. Here are photos of some of them:

Denis noticed a funny advertisement across the street that says “we have the highest prices”.

We waited for the group!

Just started to ride – one of those driving in front loses his steering wheel and starts running along the road with his bicycle. We stopped, it turned out that the steering wheel was thoroughly cracked.

Broken steering wheel

Since it not be possible to fix the breakdown on the spot, we drive on, leaving the bike with its owner to wait for the tow truck.

A few hundred meters away, another daredevil drives at full speed into an open drain. The consequences are small scratches and a punctured wheel.

Said drain can be seen in the photo.

The way after was smooth and uneventful. We are heading to the airport.

If there were no word on the facade, I would never have thought that in front of me is our airport – a main bus station is bigger.

Next, we make a short stop in Kodaky near the store.

We go down to the dividing line between the quarry and the river. Volunteers are swimming, others arrange a snack.

Stones and slabs of unknown origin are everywhere at the quarry.
